Arthroscopy involves inserting optical and surgical instruments and a light source into the body’s joints to perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures through small incisions—known as ports. Wrist arthroscopy is used to examine and treat traumatic injuries to ligaments and bones, bone and cartilage changes caused by arthritis or arthrosis, as well as to diagnose possible causes of various unexplained pains directly in the wrist joints.
