Today, June 18, the new specialized hospital of the Latvian Microsurgery Center (LMC) was officially opened at 332 Brīvības gatve in Riga. It will bring together under one roof the highest-quality diagnostic, reconstructive, hand, aesthetic medicine, and oncological microsurgery under one roof, ensuring a convenient and comprehensive treatment experience for patients from Latvia and abroad.
The new hospital is a state-of-the-art medical center capable of performing more than 300 types of surgeries, and it is staffed by a team of more than 70 employees. On average, 4,000 surgeries are performed at LMC each year, with the number reaching 5,500 in 2024.
In recent years, the hospital has been admitting an increasing number of patients from abroad—including from the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and other European countries.
“Over the past 40 years, the Latvian Microsurgery Center has become one of the leading microsurgery institutions in Europe. We are pleased to open a new hospital that allows patients to receive everything—from consultation to rehabilitation—in one place, at the highest quality, in accordance with modern technological and medical standards,” says Dr. Jānis Krustiņš, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Microsurgery Center.
The LMC team consists of plastic surgeons, hand surgeons, orthopedists, and traumatologists who have acquired their expertise and regularly update their skills at clinics in the United States, Norway, France, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, and elsewhere.
