Digital Radiography—A Fast and Effective Diagnostic Method

The Latvian Microsurgery Center offers digital X-ray examinations using state-of-the-art equipment that provides high-resolution images while reducing the patient’s radiation exposure. Digital radiography allows doctors to make an accurate diagnosis and select the most appropriate treatment strategy.

It is a very important diagnostic method for treating various conditions of the extremities. At the Microsurgery Center, we can perform X-rays of the hands and wrists, legs and feet, knees and elbows, as well as other parts of the extremities.

A referral from a family doctor or specialist is required to receive this service. There is a fee for this service. X-ray images are immediately available in the DATAMED system, where the treating physician can view them to determine an accurate diagnosis and propose a treatment plan.

Thanks to digital technology, examinations are fast and safe. To ensure that the examinations are accurate and of high quality, patients must have a referral indicating the need for an X-ray examination and describing the body part to be examined. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing that can be easily removed or unbuttoned to expose the body parts to be examined (arms, legs). Please avoid clothing with metal parts (buttons, zippers, jewelry), as these can affect image quality. Please remember that you will need to remove jewelry, watches, and other metal objects from the area to be examined before the procedure. If you suspect you may be pregnant, be sure to inform the receptionist and the medical staff before the examination.
